Ramchandra Para Eco-Park Faces Neglect Despite Huge Investment

Takhum Bari: The Ramchandra Para Eco-Park, once envisioned as a major eco-tourism attraction in Tripura, now stands as a symbol of mismanagement and wasted public funds. The Forest Department of Tripura has reportedly invested several crores of rupees in its development, aiming to promote environmental awareness and boost local tourism. However, the current condition of the park tells a different story.

Despite its inauguration, the park remains incomplete and fails to generate any revenue. Infrastructure development has either been poorly executed or left unfinished, raising serious concerns about the transparency and effectiveness of fund utilization. Locals have criticized the lack of maintenance and security, which has turned the space into a casual hangout spot, especially for young couples, rather than a family-friendly eco-destination.

Residents fear that if immediate action is not taken, the park may soon become a hotspot for illegal activities, posing serious safety concerns. There are even alarming warnings that unchecked use of the park may lead to incidents such as violence or cases of teen pregnancy. The community urges the state government to take swift and responsible steps to either complete the project or repurpose the space before it turns into a public liability rather than an asset.
