Duluma Tripura || 20 Tuesday May ||In a vibrant cultural event held at Duluma Tiyari Mairang, MLA Pathanlal Jamatia said Tipra Motha’s ‘Iron Lady’ EM Dolly Reang emphasized the deep cultural significance of traditional attire during a yarn distribution programme organized by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The yarn distribution aims to support the continued weaving of rignai and risa, traditional Tripuri garments that are intrinsic to the community’s identity.
Executive Member (EM) Dolly Reang said, “Rignai and risa are not just clothes—they represent the soul of Tripuri culture. This yarn distribution ensures that our heritage remains alive through every thread woven.” The event saw active participation from several Tipra Motha party workers including Indra Mahan Jamatia, Pancham Sadhan Jamatia, Sima Devi Jamatia, and Brihat Ram Jamatia, showcasing unity and grassroots-level support for cultural preservation efforts. The TTAADC has long been distributing yarn as part of its initiative to support traditional weaving practices in tribal areas. With the support of local leaders and cultural advocates, such programmes aim to strengthen ethnic pride and empower indigenous weavers.
