The visit followed allegations that supporters of the Tipra Motha Party attacked BJP workers attending the event on Sunday, July 27.
According to local sources, BJP activists had gathered to listen to the Prime Minister's address when a group allegedly linked to Tipra Motha launched an unprovoked assault. The incident sparked tension in the area, with several BJP workers reportedly injured.
The BJP delegation included prominent figures such as former MP Rebati Tripura, Minister Santana Chakma, MLA Rampada Jamatia, and other key leaders of the Tribal Morcha. They met with the victims and assured them of full party support and legal assistance.
Following the site visit, the delegation met with the District Superintendent of Police to discuss the incident and submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. They stressed the need for exemplary punishment to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
The leaders condemned the violence, calling it an attack on democratic values and freedom of expression. They emphasized that political rivalry should never result in physical violence and urged the administration to ensure peace and protection for all party workers, especially in tribal-dominated areas.
