Gomati District Observes Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2025 with Grand Celebration in Amarpur

Amarpur, Gomati Tripura | 15 November 2025:

The Gomati District administration celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2025 with great respect and enthusiasm at Ananda Dhara Hall, Amarpur today. The district-level programme began at 11:00 AM, bringing together distinguished leaders, officials, and community members to honour the rich tribal heritage and contributions of India’s indigenous communities.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Pranajit Singha Roy, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Planning & Coordination, IT and other departments, Government of Tripura, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the immense cultural value, bravery, and historic sacrifices of tribal leaders whose legacy continues to inspire the nation.

The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of several Hon’ble MLAs who attended as Guests of Honour, including:

  • Shri Pathan Lal Jamatia

The programme also welcomed key officials as Special Guests, notably:

  • Shri Rinku Lather, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector, Gomati District

  • Shri Chandrajoy Reang, Chairman, DLAC, TRP & PTG, South Tripura TR Division

The event was presided over by Shri Debal Debroy, Hon’ble Sabhadhipati, Gomati Zilla Parishad, who emphasized the importance of preserving tribal identity, languages, customs, and traditional knowledge for future generations.

Cultural performances, traditional songs, and speeches marked the day, showcasing the pride and unity of the tribal communities of Gomati District. The celebration served as a reminder of the invaluable role of Janajati heroes in India’s freedom struggle and their continuing contribution to the socio-cultural fabric of the state.

The programme concluded with a message of harmony, inclusiveness, and commitment towards the welfare and empowerment of all Janajati communities across Tripura.
