Rule Violation Alleged in Karbook Highway Project as Contractor Bypasses SDO Oversight

 

GOMATI / KARBOOK: Serious allegations of administrative negligence and corrupt practices have surfaced regarding the highway road work leading to Karbook via Chuitraham Para. Local MLA Sanjoy Manik Tripura revealed that contractor Bijoy Krishna Saha, hailing from Chellagang, initiated and continued the road construction without providing prior notification to the SDO office or having departmental technical staff present on site.

The MLA alleged that duplicate and cheap materials were intentionally introduced to pocket funds. Supporting the legislator's claims, resident Ratan Kumar Reang and fellow villagers testified that the construction crew operated for three straight days in blatant violation of government engineering rules. A physical examination of the road foundation showed heavy sand content mixed into the metal layer. Affected villagers have demanded an urgent probe by higher departmental authorities to hold the responsible contractors accountable.
