UDAIPUR, TRIPURA: At a time when incidents of dishonesty and self-interest often make headlines, an auto-rickshaw driver from Udaipur has set an example of honesty and humanity by returning a passenger's bag containing around ₹80,000 in cash to its rightful owner.

The auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Akhtar Hossain, reportedly found the bag on the rear seat of his vehicle while cleaning it on Sunday morning.
According to information available, Melaghar-based businessman Ratan Sutradhar had hired the auto-rickshaw from Ramesh Chowmuhani in Udaipur at around 8:20 pm on Saturday. He was travelling towards Kakraban Motor Stand and reportedly got off the vehicle at around 9 pm, accidentally leaving his bag on the rear seat.
The following morning, Akhtar reportedly discovered the unattended bag while cleaning his auto-rickshaw in the Rajdharnagar area. After checking the bag to identify its owner, he reportedly found around ₹80,000 in cash along with a phone number.
Akhtar contacted the number and learned that the bag belonged to Ratan Sutradhar. The businessman, who had reportedly become worried after losing the bag, travelled from Melaghar to Udaipur on Sunday morning.
At around 9 am, Akhtar handed over the bag to Sutradhar at the Rajarbag-Garjanmura auto-rickshaw stand in the presence of local workers and fellow auto-rickshaw drivers.
The gesture has earned praise from local workers and residents, who said Akhtar's decision to return the money demonstrated that honesty and humanity continue to exist in society.
