5 TB Cases Detected in Ichachari and Jalaya, MPW Urges Public Health Awareness

Ichachari, Tripura – In a concerning development, five cases of Tuberculosis (TB) have been identified in the villages of Ichachari and Jalaya, according to Multipurpose Worker (MPW) Bisha Manjuri Jamatia. She shared this information during a recent community interaction, highlighting the urgent need for public health awareness in the region.

MPW Jamatia expressed concern that many villagers are still not connected with ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, which may be contributing to underreporting of cases. “If the public were more connected with ASHA workers, the number of positive TB cases might be even higher,” she stated.

She emphasized the importance of early detection, regular medical check-ups, and awareness campaigns to combat the spread of TB. The health department is expected to intensify outreach efforts in the area to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment for affected individuals.
