Special Gram Sabha Held in Ichachari to Mark National Panchayati Raj Day 2025

On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day 2025, a Special Gram Sabha was held at Ichachari Village Council under Karbook subdivision in Gomati District, Tripura. The event was part of a state-wide initiative to strengthen grassroots democracy and community participation in development.

The Gram Sabha witnessed active participation from the local community, including village heads, school authorities, and social workers. Notable attendees included the Headmaster and In-charge of local schools, SHG Village Organization (VO) members, and prominent social workers Dharjaray Tripura, Pitiray Tripura, Janamani Tripura, and Akong Mog. The Ichachari Panchayat Project Officer, Sarmi Chakma, also addressed the gathering.

Key developmental issues concerning the village and surrounding areas were discussed during the Sabha. Topics ranged from infrastructure improvement and education to health services and livelihood generation through SHG activities. Community members raised their voices on various concerns and suggestions, reinforcing the role of participatory governance.

Several nearby villages also joined the Sabha, making it a vibrant platform for collective dialogue and planning. The event underscored the significance of the Panchayati Raj system in promoting inclusive rural development and ensuring that every voice counts.
