Personnel from Jalaya Forward Camp of 169 Battalion BSF noticed Takshin roaming suspiciously and unnecessarily in the border area. Concerned, they detained him and handed him over to Karbook Police. SI Chakraborty later contacted Chilfi Police Station in Chhattisgarh and informed Takshin's family about his whereabouts.

Ten days later, on April 29, Takshin's elder brother Ganga Bharman arrived at Karbook Police Station to bring his brother back home. According to police, Takshin appears to suffer from mental instability, which may have contributed to his disappearance.

Ganga Bharman expressed deep gratitude to Tripura Police and BSF for their sincere efforts and humane approach. He told the media that he was overwhelmed with happiness and relief, praising the dedication of the authorities involved in safely returning his missing brother after months of uncertainty and distress.
