Residents Block Road Near Shantibazar Over Unfulfilled Road Construction Promise

Kamalpur, May 7:

Locals near Shantibazar in Kamalpur sub-division blocked a key road today, protesting the lack of a proper route between Katalothma (Sabdhan Chowdhury Para) and Tuiskuthang. According to the residents, they have been demanding road construction for years but received only repeated assurances with no visible progress.

 The road's poor condition has severely affected daily movement, especially during the rainy season. Even the arrival of Minister Shukla Charan Noatia at the protest site failed to convince the villagers to withdraw the blockade. Protesters insisted that unless clear and immediate steps are taken, the agitation will continue. The blockade disrupted local traffic for several hours, drawing attention to the long-standing neglect faced by the area.
