Poonch, J&K | May 7:

Tensions continue to rise in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir following a series of alarming developments. In a major breakthrough, Indian security forces uncovered a militant hideout, recovering five improvised explosive devices (IEDs), wireless sets, and clothing used by terrorists. The operation was launched in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces have reportedly engaged in intense cross-border shelling, killing 12 civilians—including five from the Sikh community. Religious sites including a Gurudwara, mosque, and a Geeta Bhawan were damaged in the shelling, sparking panic among local residents.

In retaliation, India has launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Security forces continue search operations in the Lasana forest area and have increased deployment along the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway.
