3-Day Sub-Division Level Workshop on Pancham Tripuri Culinary Practices Begins in Karbook

Karbook | August 11, 2025 – A three-day Sub-Division Level Workshop-cum-Training Programme on “Tripura State Pancham Tripuris’ Culinary Practices and Ingredients” commenced today at the Karbook Multi-Purpose Hall. The programme will run from August 11 to August 13, 2025

The event is organized by the Sub-Division Tribal Welfare Officer with the aim of preserving and promoting the rich culinary heritage of the Pancham Tripuri community, as well as training participants in traditional cooking techniques and the use of indigenous ingredients.

The inaugural session saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Karbook SDM Shamjoy Jamatia, SDPO Gamanjoy Reang, BAC Chairman Pranab Tripura, and the Deputy Collector & Magistrate (DCM).


Speakers at the opening ceremony highlighted the importance of safeguarding traditional food culture as a way of preserving identity, promoting tourism, and supporting local economies. The workshop will include live demonstrations, ingredient exhibitions, and interactive training sessions with culinary experts.

The programme has drawn enthusiastic participation from local residents, youth, and cultural representatives, all eager to learn and share the time-honored recipes of the Pancham Tripuris.
