prompting outrage and serious accusations from her family members. The incident has sparked tension at the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital premises.

According to the victim’s family, 16-year-old Shiuli Debnath, a resident of Malaynagar in Agartala and daughter of Shankar Debnath, was married three years ago to 32-year-old Raju Debnath, son of Gopal Debnath from Gokulnagar Adarsha Colony in the Kamalasagar Assembly constituency, in accordance with traditional social customs.

Shiuli’s family claims that from just two months into the marriage, the couple began facing marital disputes. She stayed at her paternal home for nearly 11 months, and only returned to her husband’s house after a settlement between both families.

On Friday morning, Shiuli was reportedly found hanging at her in-laws’ residence. Her in-laws allegedly brought the body to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital without informing the police, which further raised suspicions.

Tensions flared on the hospital premises when, according to reports, no doctors attended to the body until 2 PM after it was brought in the morning. Locals and family members expressed outrage over the delay, causing an uproar in the area.

Shiuli’s father has squarely accused her husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law of murdering her and staging it as a suicide. Following the incident, police from Bishalgarh Police Station arrived at the hospital, took charge of the body, and have registered a case. An investigation is currently underway.
