Karbook, August 26, 2025 – Just 24 hours after the Supreme Court confirmed the holding of TTAADC Village Council elections, political tremors have begun in Karbook subdivision. The case was originally filed by Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya, seeking a clear mandate for the council polls.
In a significant development, the BJP has claimed to recapture Ichachari ADC Village Council, following the mass surrender of 82 Tipra Motha supporters who joined the BJP. Local leaders believe this is part of a larger trend, as similar political crossovers have been taking place almost every month in the region.

The latest defection has sparked renewed debate on the political future of Karbook RD Block, with BJP, Tipra Motha, and CPIM all aiming to consolidate their influence ahead of the council elections.
