Residents Block National Highway Demanding Road Repair in Raipasha, Tripura

Ambassa, Tripura – Once again, frustrated over poor road conditions, locals took to the streets to demand urgent repairs. On Friday, residents of Raipasha village under the Naila Habarai area in Ambassa Subdivision staged a blockade on the Assam-Agartala National Highway.

The protestors, including a large number of women, alleged that the road leading to Raipasha has been in a severely dilapidated condition for a long time, rendering it nearly unusable. They said that during emergencies, the impassable road causes severe delays and hardships for the villagers.

Despite repeated complaints to local officials and public representatives, no action was taken to repair the road. Left with no alternative, the local women's group led the road blockade, demanding immediate attention.

As a result of the blockade, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the national highway. Upon receiving information, officers from Ambassa Police Station and the Sub-Divisional Administration rushed to the spot. They held discussions with the protestors and assured them that the road would be repaired soon, leading to the suspension of the blockade.
