In a deeply disturbing incident, two minor sisters have fallen victim to alleged cruelty at the hands of their own parents. According to sources, a 14-year-old girl was severely beaten and locked inside a room by her parents after she refused to agree to a forced marriage.

The situation of the two minors, now facing an uncertain future, has drawn the attention of child welfare authorities. On Saturday afternoon, Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura Child Rights Commission, along with other officials, visited the hospital to assess their condition. They spoke with medical staff to gather details about the girls’ treatment and assured that strict action will be taken against the accused parents.
The heart-wrenching image of the younger sister sitting beside her ailing elder sibling moved many at the hospital to tears. This tragic case has sparked outrage and calls for stronger protection mechanisms for vulnerable children.
