Three Bangladeshi Nationals Detained While Attempting Illegal Entry in Singichhara, Suspected Trafficking Agent Arrested

Khowai, August 23: Three Bangladeshi nationals were detained by Khowai Police while allegedly attempting to enter India illegally through the Singichhara area of Khowai district. In connection with the incident, police also arrested a suspected agent allegedly linked to a human trafficking network.

According to police sources, the detained Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Ripon Talukdar (40), a resident of the Firozpur area of Sunamganj district, Sujata Talukdar (32), and a minor. They were allegedly attempting to cross the international border illegally and enter India.

Police also arrested Priya Lal Sarkar (32) on suspicion of being involved in the alleged trafficking network. He is reportedly the son of Shashi Mohan Sarkar of the Ramnagar Shilpara Landless Colony area.

During the operation, police also seized a vehicle bearing registration number TR01BC0751. Preliminary investigation suggests that the vehicle may have been used to transport the alleged illegal entrants.

Following the incident, police have started questioning the detained individuals and the arrested suspect. Investigators are also examining whether other persons are involved and whether the incident is connected to a larger cross-border trafficking network.
