According to local residents, the road is an important access route connecting the agricultural areas of South Ghilatali and Chankhala. They alleged that a bamboo barricade had been placed across the brick-paved road following a dispute concerning a boundary net around a garden reportedly belonging to TRPC Chairperson Patal Kanya Jamatia.
Residents further alleged that the situation worsened when a JCB machine was brought to the area and excavation work was started along the blocked route. Local farmers and residents reportedly gathered at the spot and protested, saying the road was essential for their daily movement and access to agricultural land.
Residents also made allegations concerning B.P. Meena, described by them as Patal Kanya Jamatia’s husband and an IAS officer from Rajasthan. They alleged that he confronted protesters and made remarks referring to local residents as “Bangladeshis.” These allegations could not be independently verified from the information available.

Following the tension, Kalyanpur Police and DCM Haripada Sarkar, representing the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Administration, reached the spot and held discussions with those involved.
Following the administration’s intervention, the portion of the road reportedly damaged by excavation was filled in and the bamboo barricade was removed, restoring public access.
A tripartite meeting involving representatives of the villagers, Patal Kanya Jamatia and the sub-divisional administration has reportedly been scheduled for Tuesday to seek a longer-term resolution to the dispute.
