New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on Wednesday, just a day after engaging in key defence discussions with senior officials, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the armed forces. The Prime Minister has granted the military autonomy to decide the mode, timing, and targets of their response as India prepares countermeasures against Pakistan-backed terror groups linked to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives.

Gujarat Cracks Down on Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants; Over 1,000 Detained in Ahmedabad and Surat

Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In what is being described as the state’s biggest-ever crackdown on illegal immigration, the Gujarat government has detained over 1,000 suspected Bangladeshi nationals in Ahmedabad and Surat in a single night, officials confirmed. The large-scale operation, conducted jointly by police and intelligence units, led to the detention of 890 individuals in Ahmedabad and 134 in Surat. These detentions are part of an ongoing state-wide effort that has seen nearly 6,500 undocumented individuals taken into custody so far.

According to Gujarat DGP Vikas Sahay, the detainees are currently being questioned, and both documentary and technological evidence are being gathered to verify their nationality. Missing for 4 Months, Chhattisgarh Youth Reunited with Family by Tripura Police

Karbook, Tripura – In a heart-touching development, Tripura Police successfully reunited 28-year-old Takshin Bharman, son of Maniram Bharman from Chilfi, Ward No. 1, Mungeli District, Chhattisgarh, with his family after he had been missing for nearly four months. On April 18, SI Tamal Chakraborty informed the media that Takshin was found wandering near the India-Bangladesh border between Jalaya and Patichari.

Personnel from Jalaya Forward Camp of 169 Battalion BSF noticed Takshin roaming suspiciously and unnecessarily in the border area. Concerned, they detained him and handed him over to Karbook Police. SI Chakraborty later contacted Chilfi Police Station in Chhattisgarh and informed Takshin's family about his whereabouts.

Ten days later, on April 29, Takshin's elder brother Ganga Bharman arrived at Karbook Police Station to bring his brother back home. According to police, Takshin appears to suffer from mental instability, which may have contributed to his disappearance.

Ganga Bharman expressed deep gratitude to Tripura Police and BSF for their sincere efforts and humane approach. He told the media that he was overwhelmed with happiness and relief, praising the dedication of the authorities involved in safely returning his missing brother after months of uncertainty and distress.

Mid-Day Meal and Teaching Irregularities: Debla Chakma Accused Once More

There have been longstanding allegations against Debla Chakma, a teacher at the Puwang Bari Prabin Chakma Para Anganwadi Centre under Karbook Block of Karbook Subdivision. 

It is reported that for many years, she has not properly conducted classes for the students, nor has she provided the Mid-Day Meal to them. Numerous complaints have been made against Debla Chakma in the past as well. The Karbook Subdivision CDPO office has issued punishment to her 10 times. Despite these disciplinary actions, fresh complaints have emerged against Debla Chakma once again today. It now remains to be seen what steps the administration will take against her this time.

Today, a sudden and powerful windstorm caused severe damage in the Buiragi Dogan area of Karbook, Gomti District, leaving four families without shelter. The affected families include Raj Laxmi Tripura, Swarna Mala Tripura, Arun Uday Dewan, and Uttam Tripura. Their homes were completely destroyed, leaving them in urgent need of support and assistance. 


In response to the incident, social worker Bishal Debbarma promptly visited the site to provide emotional support and assure the victims of further help. The local community has also expressed concern and called for immediate relief measures from the authorities. The affected families are currently staying with neighbors and relatives while they await aid. Further assessment and support are expected from local administration soon.
