Political Shift in Karbook Subdivision After Supreme Court’s Nod to TTAADC Village Council Elections

Karbook, August 26, 2025 – Just 24 hours after the Supreme Court confirmed the holding of TTAADC Village Council elections, political tremors have begun in Karbook subdivision. Unusual Theft Shocks Kailashahar: Pet Dog Stolen, Slaughtered, and Sold as Meat in Irani Area

Kailashahar, Unakoti District – August 2, 2025:

In a deeply disturbing and unusual case of theft, a pet dog was allegedly stolen, slaughtered, and its meat sold—sending shockwaves through the peaceful Hirachhara ADC Village under the Irani Police Station of Kailashahar subdivision.

The shocking incident came to light when Rajarama, a resident of Ward No. 1 in the area, found his beloved pet dog missing last Thursday. Investigations and local accounts reveal that three individuals—Pintu Das, Borobabu Bagti, and Mangal Munda—allegedly captured the dog under the cover of darkness and took it to one of their homes, where it was killed and partially consumed.

The remaining meat was reportedly sold in the Halam Bari area.

Further adding to the horror, the dog’s severed head was dumped into a nearby pond. However, in a bizarre turn, one of the accused allegedly retrieved the head and returned it to Rajarama, claiming innocence and denying involvement.

Following a written complaint from Rajarama, a team from Irani Police Station, along with OTS personnel, swiftly responded and apprehended two of the accused. Investigations suggest the individuals may also be involved in other animal theft cases, including goats and cats.

This inhumane act has sparked outrage among animal lovers and plantation workers in the locality, many of whom are demanding strict and exemplary punishment for the culprits. The incident has caused widespread concern and anger in the Hirachhara ADC Village, as locals struggle to come to terms with the gruesome and inhuman act.

Rajarama is now seeking justice through proper legal channels, while the case continues to gain attention across the region.

Udaipur, Tripura – August 2, 2025:

In a shocking case of alleged negligence and irregularities, the West Khilpara Anganwadi Centre, under Matabari CDPO, has come under scrutiny after reports emerged that students are mostly absent, yet their attendance is regularly recorded.

The Anganwadi worker, Anna Begum, is accused of rarely attending the center on time. According to locals, although the center is scheduled to open at 7:00 AM, Anna often arrives as late as 9:00 AM or even 12 noon, depending on her convenience. As a result, students reportedly do not turn up, and the center remains largely non-functional during official hours.

Adding to the controversy, Anna Begum has been caught on camera allegedly selling rationed items, such as rice and pulses, meant for children enrolled at the center. There are also multiple complaints from the public that protein-rich foods like eggs and suji (semolina) have not been provided to children for the past three months.

On Saturday morning, media representatives visited the center between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM and found Anna Begum absent. When contacted through a helper, she rushed to the center and claimed she had been unwell for some time, leading to delayed attendance. She also denied all allegations, calling them completely false.

Anna further stated that the government has not released payments for the last four months, and that is why eggs have not been distributed since April.

Despite her explanation, the mounting complaints and visual evidence have triggered calls from the local community for a formal investigation into the matter.

Pradyot Bikram Holds Productive Meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Discusses Implementation of Tiprasa Accord

New Delhi, August 1, 2025 – In a significant political development, Tipra Motha chief, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, held a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to discuss the implementation of the much-anticipated Tiprasa Accord.

In a Facebook post following the meeting, Pradyot Bikram stated, "Had a very good meeting with Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and discussed the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord for the people of our state. He assured all of us that he will personally ensure that the Government of India's commitment is upheld towards the Tiprasa people."
Tiprasa Accord
Tiprasa Accord

The Tiprasa Accord, a historic agreement signed earlier this year between the Centre and representatives of the indigenous Tiprasa community, aims to safeguard the cultural, political, and land rights of the indigenous people of Tripura. However, its implementation has remained a subject of concern and discussion among stakeholders.

Pradyot’s meeting with the Home Minister is seen as a major step forward in reinforcing the Government of India’s intent to move ahead with concrete measures under the accord. Sources close to the discussion indicated that key topics such as constitutional safeguards, administrative autonomy, and socio-economic development for the Tiprasa population were among the core issues discussed.

Political observers believe that the meeting signifies a renewed momentum in fulfilling the aspirations of the Tiprasa people, many of whom have long felt marginalized in the state’s governance framework.

The assurance from the Home Minister has been welcomed by Tipra Motha supporters and tribal organizations, who hope the accord’s implementation will begin soon in both letter and spirit.

With this renewed engagement at the national level, the focus now shifts to how swiftly and effectively the Central and State governments can translate this political will into actionable outcomes for the Tiprasa community.
